About Us

“Hi, I’m Shirley Williams, the heart behind Your Furry Godmothers LLC”

Caring for others has been at the center of my life for decades—first as a Registered Nurse and later as a professional pet sitter. After retiring from nursing, I found a wonderful way to combine my healthcare experience, compassion, and lifelong love of animals through Your Furry Godmothers.

I started this business with a simple belief: every pet, regardless of age, size, or medical condition, deserves comfort, dignity, and compassionate care. My nursing background gave me a special appreciation for the needs of senior pets, animals recovering from illness or surgery, and those who need a little extra attention.

Over the years, I’ve learned that caring for animals involves so much more than feeding them, giving them medication, or making sure they’re comfortable. It’s about understanding their individual personalities, recognizing subtle changes in their behavior, and appreciating the extraordinary relationships we share with them.

Today, Your Furry Godmothers is growing into something new. While I still care for some of my longtime pet-sitting clients, I’m focusing more of my time on sharing what I’ve learned through educational articles, videos, helpful guides, and free resources for pet owners.

Whether you’re caring for an aging companion, welcoming a new pet into your family, or simply looking for practical ways to make your animal’s life happier and healthier, I hope you’ll find something useful here.

And of course, my own pets have been some of my greatest teachers. From the dogs I’ve loved and lost to the cats who currently share my home, they’ve taught me about patience, resilience, trust, and the remarkable ways animals enrich our lives.

My goal is to help you feel more informed, more confident, and more connected to the animals who depend on you.

Because caring for pets isn’t simply about what we do for them. It’s also about everything they bring into our lives.

Comfort and Compassion for Every Pet in Every Stage of Life.

Forever in My Heart — Austen and Diva

Austen and Diva shared my life for 17 and 16 years, respectively, and left me within two months of each other. Austen was my heart dog, and both taught me more about unconditional love, companionship, and the bittersweet privilege of caring for aging pets than I could ever put into words. They may no longer be beside me, but they will always be part of the heart of Your Furry Godmothers.
